Senior Physiotherapist
I am an experienced physiotherapist with a background spanning both private practice and the public health system. My clinical foundation is in sports physiotherapy, with extensive experience in structured, gym-based rehabilitation designed around the specific demands of each individual’s sport or activity in combination with a “hands on apprach”.
I have a longstanding involvement in board sports, particularly kitesurfing, kite foiling and Wing Foiling here in the Bay of Plenty, which gives me practical insight into the mechanics, injury patterns, and performance demands unique to these water based disciplines. The rehab for these very dynamic sports requires sports specfic knowledge
Earlier in my career, while working in London, I was involved with both the English National Ballet and the Royal Ballet School. This experience provided a detailed understanding of injury mechanisms in classical and contemporary dance, as well as the structured rehabilitation pathways required to return high-level performers safely to full function.
Over the past five years, I have worked within the Chronic Pain Team at Tauranga Hospital as part of a multidisciplinary service. This role involved managing complex and persistent pain presentations, including neuropathic pain. My approach integrates current best practice in pain management, including pharmacological understanding, graded exercise, and psychologically informed rehabilitation principles. Working within a collaborative medical team has reinforced the importance of careful assessment, clear communication, and coordinated care.
My primary objective is straightforward: to identify the true source of the problem and deliver accurate, targeted treatment. Where appropriate, I liaise closely with orthopaedic surgeons, sports physicians, radiology services, and your GP to ensure a thorough and cohesive management plan is developed.
I place a high value on detailed clinical reasoning, precise documentation, and keeping referrers informed of your progress and outcomes. My focus is always on restoring function, building resilience, and enabling a safe and confident return to the activities that matter most to you.
